Get Involved
If you have been here for decades or just a few weeks, there is a place for you to get more involved! At St Luke, our mission is to connect, grow, and serve by loving God, loving others, and serving the community. All of our teams are available for all ages and stages of life. We especially encourage our younger members to get involved with Discipleship team and the Worship team. Some teams are more physically active, while others are more brain focused. Some teams meet during the day, others are more flexible. You can be on more than one team, or on a team for a particular season. If something calls out to you, but you’re not sure how it might work, reach out to the team lead or to the pastor and we can figure it out together. Contact the office at [email protected] or 920-458-3461 to get connected to a team.
Care Team
The care team is a huge part of our connection to one other, and helps us love others well. The care team is responsible for caring for our at home members (often referred to as shut-ins), checking in with them and seeing how we can make sure they feel included in our community. The care team also looks after folks experiencing illness, injury, or the death of a loved one, or other crisis. Tasks include making phone calls, home visitation with the pastor, letter writing, meal train organization, etc. This group will also manage the prayer list. Good listeners, skilled bakers, and folks who want to ensure no one feels left out are a great fit for this team.
Outreach Team
The outreach team is where we connect to our community. This team is in charge of new members, advertising events to the community, and sharing our story with the people around us. At St Luke, we know we have a good thing going. This team helps us tell the community so that we might bring more folks in to learn and grow in their faith. This team will also encourage service within the community, making sure that we are being the hands and feet of Jesus everywhere we go. This team is looking for creative, out of the box thinkers, people passionate about service, and a diverse range of ages and stages of life.
Discipleship Team
The discipleship team is where we grow, working on loving God and deepening our spirituality together. This team helps support Sunday school for all ages, short term Bible studies and book studies, confirmation and anything else they might think up! This team works with the worship team to align the seasons of the church with our discipleship efforts.
Worship Team
The worship team meets three times per year to plan Advent, Lent and summer worship. This team meets immediately following worship for these planning events and then tackles specific elements of the plan. Feel free to join us for just one season or become a regular member of the team. Special events include: Pop up pageant, Lenten Study, Christmas eve services, advent readings, Palm Sunday, etc. Helpful skills include creativity with words, pictures, or music; musical ability or interest, and an interest in what worship looks like at St Luke. This team is actively up and running and we are always open to new members.
Facility Care Team
This team works hard to make sure our building is looking good and working well! Tasks include deep cleaning, minor repairs, and event set up or tear down. This team will have a regularly weekly meeting that is optional, as well as a running lists of tasks that any member is welcome to tackle on their own or with a buddy.
Grounds Crew
The grounds crew takes care of the outside of the church. Trash pickup, grass seeding, watering plants, mowing the grass, trimming trees, etc. This crew is for folks who want to do this work or who want to help direct this work by providing their green thumb expertise.
